GAURAV LEDERWAREN
Kolkata, India

Gaurav Lederwaren PVT Limited is a woman owned business designing and manufacturing leathergoods for brands all over the world. We have been certified in the past by SEDEX, SA 8000 and are currently applying for BSCI certification and compliance. Gaurav Lederwaren Pvt Ltd has been awarded the emerging woman owned business award in 2023 by the Government of India (MSME Department). We have been awarded the woman of the east award by ILPA (Indian Leather Products Association) in 2024.

In 2024 we have launched collections made using cruelty free plant based sustainable leather like materials that are an alternative for both leather and PU. Most brands are using leathers that are usually chrome tanned and are extremely harmful for the health of the workers in the tanneries and artisans in the factories. Other brands are selling PU naming it “vegan leather” as it is a cheaper alternative to leather- however, PU is extremely toxic for the environment. Our business revolutionizes fashion with sustainable plant based vegan leather which combine style with eco- consciousness. We provide brands and designers a collaborative space to create premium, cruelty free goods in small, exclusive batches, ensuring every piece aligns with ethical values while maintaining uncompromising quality and design excellence.

Gaurav Lederwaren Pvt Ltd empowers a sustainable ecosystem by transforming agricultural waste into high quality leather alternatives. We support farmers by purchasing plant residues, offering them an ecofriendly alternative to burning. Our skilled workers convert these materials into durable leather like fabrics, the artisans and the local community of women craft them into exquisite, ethical leathergoods. Together we create a circular economy that benefits communities, reduces environmental impact and delivers premium, handcrafted products to conscious consumers.

For those clients who want genuine leather that is chrome free and who want to promote the circular economy, we have collections made of sustainable and ecofriendly vegetable tanned leathers that are sustainable.
